Butterfly Beach and Lensbaby

While in California we make a point to always bring the girls to Butterfly Beach. It is where we were married years ago and remains one of my all time favorite places on earth. This year we had a celebratory almost 11 year anniversary high tea at the Biltmore before heading across the street for a relaxing romp in the surf. The trick was to go to tea first so everyone could get as wet and dirty as they wanted at the beach after… I also remembered to bring the girls a change of clothes which made the ride home SO much more enjoyable than last year!  Just another gorgeous Montecito day…

Things are really starting to pick up around here and I am feeling the pressure to get the rest of my California photos edited and posted before I am lost in a sea of busy holiday sessions.  One or two more vacation blog posts and I will be back into full swing work mode again (OK, maybe I already have been back in full swing work mode…). Which reminds me, if you are interested in a session this fall please contact me soon. My calendar is beginning to fill!

ps, Thanks to my helpful husband for not getting completely overwhelmed with the Lensbaby and snapping a few shots with ME in them. You’re the best!

Anna and Frances

It has been a while since I posted here. There is so much I have yet to share from my trip to California, from before my trip to California, from summer in general… I hope to change that – starting here and now with these sweet girls!

Anna and Frances, who are: ….5…lovely…twins…silly…kindergarteners…beautiful…and free as the birds.

Happy birthday, H and S. I hope you love these! xoxo

Strawberry Girls – Fauquier and Fairfax County, VA Child Photographer

When this busy mom emailed me saying she would like to cash in her Mother’s Day gift card to get some current photographs of her 1 1/2 year old twin daughters, I immediately knew I wanted to meet them somewhere fun and entertaining. Having photographed Rebecca and Delaney before, I knew they were active, busy, and above all happy little girls and I wanted to show them a good time! I suggested we go strawberry picking in the evening light, and (lucky for me) the family jumped at the idea.

I had visions of delighted toddlers playing in the rows of strawberries, dribbles of strawberry juice down chins, strawberry stained fingers, and Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. And as you can see below, R and D completely delivered! Thanks B family for driving out to the country to meet me for a little adventure (and I sincerely apologize if we ruined one more set of polka dot dresses)! :)
