365-ish. Twelve for July.

Those who follow my facebook page know that I started a 365 photo a day project earlier in the summer. I have been posting a photo every day there since mid July. However, I quickly discovered that keeping up with it every. day. was a little too rigid and time consuming for me. So I changed it to a 365-ish project. Ha!

Regardless of how often I post, taking this on has pushed me not to rely only on my iPhone for those great every day snapshots, and has challenged me to try to see things from different angles and perspectives so as not to produce the same image day after day. I will be trying to keep this project up throughout the year! Knowing how busy autumn can be with my business it may fall by the wayside a bit, however I am sure it will pick up again in winter. I plan to summarize some of my favorites for each month here on this blog. I hope you enjoy watching the progress… Here goes: 365-ish. Twelve for July.

California with Anna and Frances – Ventura, CA, Family Photographer

Some of the most amazing photos taken on our trip to California were from this family session at the Ventura Pier with my nieces. Sometimes the stars align, the sun sets in perfect magical fashion, and we all happily get wet and sandy (and rusty from the lifeguard tower) and play with a little kelp. The results are delightful, beautiful and memorable. I hope you enjoy them. And if I didn’t get to catch up with you for a family session while I was in California, I hope to meet up with you next year!

16 in July

16 iPhone photos (Instagrammed) for July. Better late than never. :)

Also, have you heard? I have started taking a photo a day (almost). Not with the phone camera, with the “big camera”. Sharing them on my facebook page. More to come…
