What types of sessions do you photograph?
New babies, high school seniors, teens/tweens, babes and their mothers, and especially children and their families. My style of commissioned photography is commonly referred to as “lifestyle photography”. I capture the life, light, beauty and love in each of my clients.
How much does a session cost?
Life | Portrait | Newborn fees are $950 (up to five people) and include all of the digital negatives. Sessions result in at least 75 artistically edited color and black and white images (a full story of your family), presented in your own password protected online gallery that you may share with family and friends. Senior | Teen sessions are $850 and result in at least 50 images. Your online gallery is also a beautifully designed shopping site for prints, frames and albums, and all orders are fulfilled by my professional photo lab which is not otherwise available to the public. And to encourage all of my clients to make their memories tangible: one print order placed the first week your gallery goes live will receive a 20% discount.
What is a session like?
Expect our session to be enjoyable and relaxed. I am happy to guide you (if needed) with outfit suggestions, and pre-session preparations. I usually take a mixture of candid and posed photographs in each session. I will likely place you in a pretty patch of light and give a little direction for some composed shots, then step back while you interact with each other to capture your emotion and connections. Kids should be rested, well fed, and allowed to explore their environment. Nothing is forced. Just be together as a family, love each other, and be yourselves.
Do you teach or mentor?
Absolutely. I love to help fellow photographers, or hobbyists further their craft. Mentor sessions usually last an hour (in person or via Skype) and I am an open book. Ask me anything.
Do you shoot film?
I have all kinds of film cameras (from a Polaroid SX-70, a Contax 645, a Rollei TLR, a Mamiya Universal, 4×5 camera, and everything in between), and I do shoot film, but not currently for clients.
