My name is Kelsey. I see life in pictures… I am a photographer, an artist, a moth chasing the light. I find the extraordinary in the ordinary, and frame simple scenes as art. I am an observer of movement, vibrancy and connections. I grew up steeped in art and I live for color, composition, layers and texture. I look for the moments we tend to take for granted. I value the outtakes. These are the pieces I want to preserve and remember.
I am a Virginia native (the northern part) who has lived half of her life in California (the southern part). I have an MFA in Photography from Cal Arts in Los Angeles, a BA in Art from UC Santa Barbara and I have been studying art and photography seriously since I was 14.
My photography style has been described as dreamy. gorgeous. emotive. whimsical. My artwork has always focused on every day life with roots in my own narrative… my story. I would love to create a tangible collection of memories for your family, too!
Working in Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC, I specialize in portraiture and lifestyle photography of sweet babies, children, TEENS and families. I also travel often to Southern California, where family is king and my loved ones long to be near the sea.
My photographs have been shown in the Kiernan Gallery, the Frumkin Duvall Gallery at Bergamot Station, and others. My work has recently been published in a book by National Geographic, A Dreamer Journal, and Mozi Magazine. I was honored to be included as one of mom.me’s top 50 Mom Photographers in 2014. I am a contributing artist at both Offset and Stocksy, and clients there include IKEA, Liberty Mutual, Weight Watchers, ebay, and Parents Magazine. Solo work featured by Featureshoot, Communal Table, Shutterstock, Let the Kids Dress Themselves, The Bloom Forum, Little Bellows, Beyond Snapshots (Life is a Photo Op), Itsy Bitsy Magazine, Prenatal and more. You Are My Wild featured on Photojojo, Design Mom, The Fresh Exchange, 100 Layer Cakelet and many more sites around the web.
